Early life
Moriah Rose Pereira was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 1, 1995. She recalls wanting to be a Rockette as a child and grew up dancing, which she did for 11 years.
She moved to Nashville, Tennessee at age 13; stating in a 2013 interview: "I moved here because my dad switched his job and we kind of wanted to start over, so I was like, 'Nashville!' And my parents went with it – which was kind of weird – so yeah, we ended up in Nashville." Shortly after, and at the young age of 15, Poppy left home for Los Angeles in pursuit of a career in entertainment.
